Room book and door list

for Itten+Brechbühl

Our client and its project

Our client, the architectural firm Itten+Brechbühl AG in Switzerland was founded in 1922 and has about 300 employees. They have worked on several projects in Luxembourg and have been using BuildingOne with Vectorworks® for some time.

Now BuildingOne is also used in the Lausanne office with Revit®.

The first project is a renovation project in Geneva.

The building was constructed in the 1960s and has a floor area of around 38,000 m².

Room book

The Revit model consists of rooms and objects in different phases. The first goal was to create a room book for rooms and objects from a specific phase only.

In the finished room book, all the necessary data was taken from the model, filtered and displayed with a 2D view of the rooms generated by BuildingOne.
(There is also the possibility to generate 3D images).

Door list

As is so often the case with larger projects, the door list is a big issue. The client had already prepared a list in Excel with the necessary columns in different colours.

It is possible to export data from Revit® to Excel, but due to the different phases in the project, there was the problem of establishing the relationship between the rooms and the doors. This was solved thanks to BuildingOne. Now the client can easily export the door list per room, per floor or for the entire building to Excel, including the relationship between the doors and the rooms.

In addition, a filter can be applied to export the doors per responsible company.

External data

The exported lists are sent to the respective companies, which complete them with the necessary information. They are then imported back into BuildingOne and can then also be synchronised with the model.

This procedure also provides an overview of which data records were updated and when.

This is just one way in which external companies can enrich data in BuildingOne.

We would like to thank Itten+Brechbühl for their trust and the good cooperation.
